In historic surroundings

Seminars, courses, conferences, management meetings, teambuilding events or kick-offs can be held here.

Sogndalstrand Kulturhotell offers conference facilities in a historic setting with a characteristic atmosphere. The hotel is suitable for small and medium-sized events, including management meetings, as the quiet surroundings enables you to focus on your work without too many interruptions.

Conference rooms and facilities:

We have three conference rooms, of which the largest can take up to 35 people.                        

All conference rooms contain everything you need for a good day’s work:  

  • Projectors and projector screens
  • Attachment points for PCs / Macs
  • PA systems
  • Notepads / pens
  • Wireless networks
  • Flip-overs

There is a special treat in two of our conference rooms where you can look directly into the river Sokna, which is rich with salmon and trout. Here, you can see the fish jumping during salmon season.


Our conference rooms:


This old boat house is originally from the 1800s. It has been restored and decorated in a traditional maritime fashion, and consist of two floors:

1. floor (ground floor) – can take up to 24 people seated at tables placed in a U-shape.

2. floor – can take up to 10–12 people seated at refectory tables or in a U-shape.



Biblioteket is in Kommunehuset and was originally Sogndalstrand’s library. Today the room contains about 3000 books, preserving the characteristics of the room and giving it a very nice atmosphere. Here, a maximum of 18 people can be seated in a U-shape.



This old chapel has been redecorated and turned into a conference room, but it is still occasionally used as a chapel. It is a spacious room with comfortable chairs. This room can take up to 30 people and it is our largest conference room. When seated in rows, the room can take up to 40 people.

Examples of what a conference facility package can contain:

  • Pastries and coffee on arrival or during the coffee break
  • Fruit basket and coffee/tea in the conference room
  • A small meal for one of the coffee breaks
  • Lunch
  • Aperitifs
  • Three course dinner
  • Accommodation including breakfast – in single or double room
  • Access to conference room with standard equipment. Personal computers must be brought.

After dinner, we recommend a visit to our very own pub, "Fengselet", for some good company and a drink. Historically this was the old prison, which has now been made into a pub.

Weddings, anniversaries and other parties:
