Sogndalstrand is situated 30 kilometres south of the town of Egersund, and was originally an important seaport in the days of sail. In these idyllic surroundings, you will find Sogndalstrand Kulturhotell in its newly restored wood laggings from the 1800s. Here, all visitors are heartily welcomed and met with great hospitality.
The hotel consists of 10 different houses. The street is our "lobby", and the old houses have certainly come back to life again: Krambua, Kommunehuset, Folvikhuset, Skredderhuset, Sjøbua, Mydlandshuset and Løa. Together, these buildings make up Sogndalstrand Kulturhotell. It is an atypical hotel open for restaurant-guests, overnight visitors, - individuell or groups, meetings and conferences, and for those wanting to celebrate a special occasion.
Sogndalstrand is one of the most visited destinations in Rogaland, and it is the only place in Norway where the old wooden buildings from the 1700 and 1800s plus the surrounding cultural landscape is all protected by law by the Directorate of Cultural Heritage.
